The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has raided and sealed two lubricant oil sites for adulteration of lubricant oil with base oil at Dakata Sauna Kawaji, Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State.
The sites raided and sealed by the organisation include one company which specialised in adulterating and re-branding lubricant oil into gallons, while the other adulterated lubricant oil with base oil into drums and sold to the public.
The coordinator, surveillance intelligence and monitoring unit of the SON, Sulaiman Isa, said they received instructions from their headquarters to raid the two locations and inspect the alleged claim of lubricant adulteration.
He added that upon arrival of the team of their personnel, civil defence and the media, the allegation was confirmed as the two were caught in the act.
Meanwhile, the two companies will remain sealed until after investigations of the samples of oil taken from the stores, according to the organisation.
