Vice President, UFUK Dialogue, Emrah IIgen, says peace reigns when efforts are geared towards fighting poverty and ignorance.
IIgen said this in Abuja on Monday when he visited the Corporate Head Office of Media Trust Limited, publishers of Daily Trust newspapers.

He said the Ufuk Dialogue championed the course of peace because peace is important to nation-building.
He said though its activities were affected by coronavirus pandemic, it remained resolute in holding peace lectures at all Nigerian schools.
He said the fight against ignorance would help people understand their rights and make them better informed.
He said aside from having 16 schools in six states and distributing stationery packages to over 69, 000 children, over 100 people were sponsored to undertake a two-year Master’s Degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution at the Nile University to enhance peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.
According to him, beneficiaries of the scheme are made peace ambassadors that help carry on the agenda of the foundation in ensuring love, tolerance, mutual understanding and peace coexistence.
The foundation’s president Ahmet Omeroglu, said they remained selfless in their service because they believed Nigerians should reserve in their hearts a seat for everyone.
The Acting Chief Executive Officer of Media Trust Ltd, Nura Daura, described the foundation’s effort towards promoting peace as very important, saying all Nigerians should promote peace and harmony.
He assured the foundation of the company’s readiness to partner with it in propagating its message of peace for the sake of humanity and Nigeria.
