The llorin branch of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) has expressed support for the ongoing strike by judiciary workers in Kwara State.
The chairman of the branch, AbdulGaniyu Bello on Monday said ‘’we are gradually killing our profession” if NBA failed to support the struggle.

He said lack of financial autonomy has paralyzed the local government administration as the third tiers of government enshrined in the nation’s constitution and called on the Kwara government and other state executives to grant financial autonomy to the judicial arm of government to give it a sense of belonging.
According to the NBA Chairman, the granting of the financial autonomy will make the Judiciary to be alive to their constitutional responsibilities.
He therefore appealed to the Kwara state government to grant financial autonomy to the state Judiciary to end the ongoing strike embark upon by affected workers in the state.
All the courts in the state are still under lock and key as a result of the development while the executive officers of the state Judiciary workers union have been visiting the courts to ensure total compliance
The workers commenced an indefinite strike last Tuesday over non implementation of financial autonomy by state governments after President Muhammadu Buhari’s signing of Executive Order 10.
