A non-governmental organisation, Khadimiyya For Justice and Development Initiative has presented  N5 million cash donation to Zamfara State government for distribution to victims of last month’s inferno which gutted some parts of the Popular Tudun Wada Market in Gusau metropolis.

National Treasurer of the organisation, Alh. Muhammad Bello Nasarawa, led some of the officials to Zamfara State government house, Gusau to present the cash to Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle.

He said it was in fulfilment of the pledge made to that effect by the founder of the initiative and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami, SAN, recently when he led a federal government delegation on a sympathy visit to the state over the tragedy.

Muhammad Bello said as a humanitarian organization, Khadimiyya group found it expedient to identify with the victims of the  inferno and to extend  support  to the state government in its commitment to ameliorating their hardship.

Responding, Zamfara State Governor, Dr Bello Muhammad Matawalle, commended the group for the donation which he described as the first of its kind from any non-governmental organization assuring that the assistance would reach the targeted beneficiaries.

The governor thanked the laudable humanitarian services and philanthropy embarked upon by Khadimiyya Initiative, especially in the areas of education, health care delivery and provision of safe drinking water to the  vulnerable groups.
