Police nab 3 armed robbers, recover pistol in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested three suspects over armed robbery in Utako and Lugbe axis of Abuja.

The spokesperson of the FCT police command, ASP Maryam Yusuf, in a statement, gave the names of the suspects as Rabiu Mohammed, Justin Tondo and Matthew John.

She said the suspects were arrested by the police operatives from the command’s Anti-Violent Crimes Unit and Anti-Car Theft Unit during routine patrols along the areas.

She said the suspects confessed to terrorizing residents of both Lugbe and Utako, saying exhibits recovered from them include a locally made pistol, a motorcycle and a silver-coloured Honda Accord, which she said they snatched from their victim at gunpoint.

According to her, all the suspects would be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation, even as she said enjoined residents of the FCT to remain law-abiding, while reaffirming the command’s commitment towards the protection of lives and property.

She said the command also implored residents of the territory to report all suspicious movements, emergency or distress, through the following numbers: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883.
