Cooperative society plans 100 houses for members

The Staff Multi-purpose Cooperative Society in Federal University Wukari, in Taraba State, has acquired land for the construction of 100 housing units for its members.

This was disclosed by the President of the society, Mr Akpa Hassan, during the Annual General Meeting of the society at Wukari, Thursday.

He revealed that the society has acquired five hectares of land for the housing project, which will cost N1 billion adding that  a loan of N100million was secured from Zenith Bank as equity counterpart funding required by Federal Mortgage Bank, which will finance the project.

The president also disclosed that the society has acquired land to build a student hostel and sachet water plant.

The president assured members that the current leadership of society would continue to introduce innovation that would adequately cater for the welfare of its members.
