A Kano Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday sentenced two men, Solomon Godwin, 19, and Ali Salisu, 50, to four months imprisonment each for stealing pharmaceuticals worth N45,100.
The convicts, who reside in Brigade Quarters Kano, pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy and theft.
Magistrate Farouk Ibrahim gave them an option to pay a fine of N8,000 each.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Mr Elias Ekainu told the court that the complainant, Mary Oboh of Marleashere Pharmaceutical Company in Sabon Gari Quarters Kano reported the matter at the Sabon Gari Police Division on Feb.22.
He alleged that Godwin being a staff at the company and Salisu, the security of the criminally conspired and stole 17 sachets of painkillers worth N45,100.
