Man kills wife in Ondo

A middle-aged man, simply identified as Gbenro, has allegedly strangled his wife, Wayeṣọla to death in Ondo.

The sad incident happened at Salvation Army Street, Odojọmu, Ondo city at the weekend.

Sources said the couple had a minor disagreement over money before going to bed.

The five-year-old daughter of the deceased, Fayọkẹ, narrated how her mother was killed.

She added that her father threatened to kill her when she made an attempt to run outside to seek help from their neighbours.

It was learnt that concerned neighbours alerted the deceased’s brother on phone.

The spokesperson of  the police command in the state, Tee-Leo Ikoro, who confirmed the story, said the suspect had been arrested while the case was transferred from Ondo to the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Akure for further action.
