Katsina State government has debunked a report by a section of the media that some internally displaced persons who are said to be camped at a school in Faskari town have cried out over neglect.
The state Commissioner for Sports and Social Welfare, Hon. Sani Aliyu Danlami, who discredited the report, insisted that there was no such camp in existence at the moment in Faskari or any other part of the state.

He was reacting to a report aired by the BBC Hausa Service and also carried by Daily Trust that the occupants of the said camp expressed worry over their continued stay without food.
In the report, the IDPs also alleged that about 10 families were jam-packed in a single room, an allegation the commissioner described as unfortunate.
“We are not saying there are no IDPs in Katsina, neither are we saying that security has fully returned to those areas, but we are saying that there is no single IDP camp, and even those who have camped with their relatives, we are still supporting them with food and other items,” he said.
Hon. Danlami challenged anyone who claimed to be aware of any IDPs camp in any school across the state to come out.
The commissioner called on the opposition in the state not to politicise the issue of insecurity or the people’s welfare, saying such reports could be instigated by the opposition who would want to blackmail the present administration.a
