The Acting Director General (DG) of National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Brigadier General Chukwuemeka Udaya (rtd), has said the institute will hold a memorial lecture in honour of its former DG, late Prof. Habu Galadima, who passed on last December.
Speaking at the pre-memorial lecture press briefing, Udaya said Vice President Yemi Osinbajo would be speaking as the special guest at the event, adding that the lecture is going to be an annual event.

He said the lecture is to be in two series, adding that the first lecture would be on proliferation of small and light weapons, while the second lecture would focus on the legacies of late Prof. Habu Galadima.
When asked on the impact of discussions on proliferation of small arms by the institute, he said, “As an institute, we will keep studying and talking about them and also communicate with the people that would take appropriate actions because, those who will take any kind of kinetic action often rely on our input and research for an exhaustive understanding of the situation on ground.”
