NITDA begins digital literacy training in states

The scheme is aimed at equipping Nigerian youths with the necessary digital literacy skills that can facilitate Nigeria’s transition to the Digital Economy

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has commenced the digital literacy and skills programme for the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to a statement from NITDA, the Digital States Programme (DSP) is designed as one of the implementation strategies of the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy for a Digital Nigeria.

The scheme is aimed at equipping Nigerian youths with the necessary digital literacy skills that can facilitate Nigeria’s transition to the Digital Economy.

The programme also focuses on training about 540 youths from each state and the FCT and it is expected that about 20,000 Nigerians will benefit from the programme.

NITDA said registration for the first phase of the programme began on March 8, 2021 just as participants from Gombe, Kano, Lagos and Rivers states are to benefit from the first phase of the programme.
