The good news coming from Bauchi State is that projects abandoned by the previous administration are now being executed by the Sen. Bala Mohammed-led PDP administration. He has been on these projects now for the past five months.
After he assumed office, Gov. Bala took a critical look at the abandoned projects and decided to implement his campaign promises by prioritizing them. The projects, which are worth millions of naira, were quickly revaluated and given prompt attention by the governor and his team.
- NLC to N/Assembly: Withdraw minimum wage bill or face nationwide strike
- 1 killed, 18 abducted, scores injured as bandits strike in Niger again
These projects which are now being completed include hospitals, schools, drainage, flyovers, silos and basic infrastructure.
It should be noted that these projects were initiated by the previous administration but were abandoned. Prominent among them are the Bauchi–Duguri road, Azare-Danoma road, Bauchi-Katagum, Inter-city roads and some important link roads in the state capital.
The abandoned projects are now being executed side-by-side those initiated by Sen Bala when he came on board and have been tagged people-oriented projects by his administration. The projects initiated by the administration are largely in the area of road rehabilitation, the health sector, provision of socio-economic activities and education. The aim is to improve the investment climate in the state and make it more buoyant.
No wonder, recently the governor was recently crowned as the best performing governor by a leading newspaper.
May the Almighty continue to give the governor and his aides the strength and wisdom to continue with the good work.
