The Federal Government on Tuesday in Abuja began the process for another phase of federal civil service reforms.
Speaking at the opening of a two-day sensitisation workshop to transform the civil service for effective service delivery, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan, said the workshop was to chart a new plan for the civil service for better performance.

She said this was with a view to continuing with the transformation drive of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan of 2017 to 2020.
She said the workshop was to afford the stakeholders the opportunity of making inputs to the successor plan of the FCSSIP that would be implemented from 2021 to 2025.
She said the FCSSIP was predicated on bringing some changes like improved staff competence and skills in the nation’s civil service for national development as well as bringing a more innovative civil service from within and outside the service to improve service delivery via dedicated innovation unit and innovation challenges.
“It’s aimed at having a New Federal Civil Service that is world-class for accelerated national development. So, it’s expected that participants would draw lessons from the old policy as implementers of the old plan so as to reposition the new plan.”
