Dr Umar, who said “without peace, there will be no progress”, stressed the need for people to tolerate one another and be each other’s keeper for the betterment of the nation.
He thanked Almighty Allah for sparing his life to witness the occasion and for the rapid development that the emirate witnessed under his kingship.
He said there would not be any form of celebration to commemorate the event apart from prayers to express gratitude to God.
“We decided to organise this prayer session to express our gratitude to Almighty Allah for his blessings upon us over the years and also to pray for the peace, progress and prosperity of our emirate, the state and the country in general,” the emir said.
He called on the people of the emirate and the country in general to intensify prayers for the leaders at all levels to be able to discharge their responsibilities and ensure peace and development of the country.
In their separate comments during the prayer session, Galadiman Daura Alhaji Ahmadu Ahmadu, and Sarkin Sudan Daura, Alhaji Nalado Yusuf, described the emir as a generous, caring and compassionate man who united the ruling houses of Daura while the emirate saw an unprecedented development under him.
