Mr President, kindly take decisive measures on insecurity

The rampant kidnapping, especially that has now been targeted towards our innocent primary and secondary school students, is worrisome.

In December 2020, over 300 schoolboys were kidnapped in your own home state, Katsina, and very ominous while you were in the state. Again, less than 14 days ago, a similar attack was carried out on some students in Niger State where over 40 people were kidnapped and have just been released. It is very embarrassing and heart-breaking to wake up on Friday with another sad news of the kidnapping of over 300 schoolgirls in Zamfara State.

The fundamental responsibility of any serious government is to first and foremost safeguard the lives and properties of its citizens. We are no longer safe in our homes, and even our innocuous children/brothers/sisters are no longer safe in their schools. This is truly heart-breaking indeed!

SPONSOR AD

One may not understand the gravity of this happening until and unless it happened to one’s brothers and sisters or one’s sons or daughters.

To put sentiment aside, this government has failed just like the previous one in safeguarding the lives and properties of the citizens. The only difference is that this government still has about two years to make things right if at all they are willing to do so. Otherwise kindly resign Mr President. I don’t care about the conspiracy theories about who is responsible for these ugly happenings; the government must be up and doing in terms of security.

Enough is enough!
