Youths urged to shun suicide

The President North Central Muslim Peace Initiative, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, has called on youths in Plateau State not to be tempted or be disturbed by any occurrence to the point of taking their own lives no matter the extent.

He was reacting to the report of 26-year-old Sarki Abdul who was said to have committed suicide in Jos, the Plateau State capital after he was duped the sum of N300,000 which he had borrowed from a friend to boost his scrap metal business.

Abdul, a National Diploma graduate of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, lived in Dilimi area of Jos. It was learnt that since he was duped of the money he had been behaving strangely until he drank rat poison to end his life.

Alhaji Zazzaga said life is precious and it is ungodly and criminal for anyone to take another person’s life, including theirs, adding that murder has no place or justification in any culture, religion or clime.

He also called on all those attacking Hausa/Fulani communities in the southern part of the country to desist from the act, pointing out that the attacks are unreasonable and unjustifiable.
