The Imo State Government has taken possession of an estate owned by the wife of the immediate past governor, Rochas Okorocha.
The property, Royal Palm Estate, situated along Akachi road in Owerri, the state capital, has sprawling mansions.

The seizure was in compliance with the directive of the Imo State gazette on the report of the Judicial Commission of Enquiry on recovery of Lands and other related matters.
The panel was set up by former Governor Emeka Ihedioha, the governor who was sacked by the supreme court last year.
The Commissioner for Lands, Enyinnaya Onuegbu, who led the team that took over the estate, said it will remain sealed untill further notice.
He said, “This is as a result of the recommendation of the commission that all illegal lands and structures acquired by administrations between 2006 and 2019 should be taken over by the government.”
Onuegbu said the current administration will not rest on its oars in recovering all the “stolen properties” of the state, especially those carted away by the previous administrations.
The Eastern Palm University was renamed K. O. Mbadiwe University, a decision rejected by Okorocha.
