The Gombe State Government has appealed for calm in Billiri Local Government Area over alleged delay in the appointment of a new Mai Tangale, the paramount ruler of Tangale Chieftdom.
Daily Trust learnt that some youths in Billiri Town blocked the Gombe-Yola Highway to protest “delay tactic” in the appointment of the Mai Tangale.
Addressing a press conference yesterday in Gombe, the Secretary to the State Government, Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, urged the people to remain calm, saying the state government was following the law in the best interest of the state with regard to the appointment.
