Nigeria is our home

As Nigerians, we are solely responsible for changing the narratives of the myriad of problems bedeviling us as a country

Nigeria is our country – our home. There is no other place we could call our home, our country other than Nigeria. It is sad that it’s subconsciously in our instinct that whenever we hear something about Nigeria we usually vituperate and condemn it at a go. This is very unfortunate. We have to be patriotic and work relentlessly to bring about the much-desired progress and development in our country.

As Nigerians, we are solely responsible for changing the narratives of the myriad of problems bedeviling us as a country and that can be done by wishing our country well.

I was so perplexed when government  asked all Nigerians to link their National Identity Number  with their  mobile SIM cards in order to address the insecurity situation militating against our country.

However, I am perplexed and taken aback when I heard many Nigerians saying that linking our national identity card with our SIM cards wouldn’t change anything in the current security situation. This statement shows the extent of ignorance, unpatriotic and pitiful orientation of an average Nigerian.

Why can’t all hands be on deck at these precarious times and stop castigating or putting blames as well as placing a curse on the government? We all have a vital role to play in moving our country to the promised  land.

Many indelible events beclouded the world last year; the of COVID-19 and a sharp, major global economic meltdown. Nigeria is no exception in this regard. What do we lose in wishing the country of our birth well?

This is a clarion call to all citizens of our nation to look out for ways to solve the puzzles we’re yet to unravel in Nigeria.  We have no other place to call our country.
