The police in the FCT in the early hours of Tuesday shot dead two suspected armed robbers in a gun battle at Gwarimpa, Abuja.
The FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Bala Ciroma, who disclosed this to newsmen at the command’s headquarters yesterday, said the suspects met their deaths while operating in the area.

CP Ciroma said the four-man robbery gang attacked residents of 7th Avenue in Gwarimpa and dispossessed them of valuables.
The CP further said in a related development another notorious gang robbers attacked and dispossessed residents of Apo-Dutse and in the process shot and killed a resident.
Concerning both incidents, the CP said, “Consequently, we have launched a manhunt to arrest and prosecute all the fleeing suspects, while the command commiserates with the families and friends of the deceased.”
