A former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Bello Adoke, SAN, has asked the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to investigate the alleged forgery in a case before a court in Milan, Italy, on the controversial sale of OML245 oil field.
Oil giants, Shell and Eni, were dragged to court by Milan’s public prosecutor over an alleged wrongdoing in taking the ownership of the profitable license.

Adoke, in the petition by his lawyer, Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, insisted that an email admitted by the Milan court allegedly emanating from him was forged.
“Our client has cause to believe that the persons who initiated the petition, investigations and the criminal trail at the Milan may have question to answer regarding the email of 21 June 2011 and the phoney telephone recording of an alleged telephone interview between a certain Ms Carlamaria Rumor and our client,” Agabi said.
