Enyimba International have secured the maximum points in a mouthwatering clash against Plateau United at the Aba Township Stadium yesterday during the Match Day 9 clash of the ongoing 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
The home side started the game with purpose as the swamped their opponents half in search of the first goal which finally came in the 27th minute when Tosin Omoyele rose above his marker to head in Iwula’s corner kick.

Three minutes later, the 8-time NPFL champions, Enyimba again took the lead following a superb link-up play between Omoyele and Iwuala.
Iwuala had shielded his marker and assisted Omoyele who fired home to score his brace to give his a 2-0 lead. His second goal is the former Osun United striker’s 11 NPFL career goal.
At the restart of the second half, Enyimba attempted to increase the lead when Austin Oladapo played a lovely ball to Sadiq Abubakar, who squared the ball to a free Iwuala but the final ball came off the base of the post.
However, in the 76th minute, Plateau’s Moses Effiong pulled one back for his side with a free header from a Ndala’s free-kick which is the Peace Boys first away goal this season.
Efforts by the 2017 NPFL champions to leave Aba with al least a point proved abortive as the game ended 2-1. Enyimba maintained the record of not dropping a point at home against their guests in a league game while Plateau United have lost two consecutive away matches in the NPFL for the first time since June 2018.
