Abdulaziz, VOA Hausa reporter, dies in accident

A Voice of America (VOA) reporter covering Adamawa and Taraba states, Ibrahim Abdulaziz, has died in a motor accident which occurred along the Gombe-Alkaleri road.

The 48-year-old print and broadcast media journalist wrote for several newspapers and presented programmes on local radio stations, including  Radio Gotel and FRCN Fombina FM Yola.

The deceased’s family has confirmed the death, saying Ibrahim and another passenger lost their lives in the accident which occurred yesterday.

He is survived by an aged mother, three wives and nine children.

The Secretary, Adamawa State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Fidelis Jocthan, expressed sadness over the incident and prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
