Federal Operation Units of Nigerian Customs Service Zone B have seized smuggled goods worth 40, 529, 273 million naira Duty Paid Value, the Kaduna State Comptroller, Al-Bashir Hamisu made the disclosure at Zone B Headquarters along Kaduna-Zaria highway on Wednesday.
He said the seizures were made within the zone as he vowed that Customs will continue to secure the borders against smugglers.

He listed some of the seized goods to include 484 parcels of Indian hemp, 373 bags of foreign rice , Vegetable oil 45 kgs and 48 bales of second hand clothing.
According to him, “The duty paid value of these items is 40,526,273 million naira. My message to these smugglers is that we are not going to rest and we will make sure that we follow them into their bed room just to stop them from bringing in rice and other banned goods into this country.”
He further emphasize that rice importation remain illegal and therefore his personnel will not compromise by allowing foreign rice into the country.
He said the federal government has a very good plan for agriculture and customs is ever ready to ensure that the policies of government are achieved.

He explained that inter agency relationship is key to success as he promised to continue having good relationship with other security and para military agencies .
