A magistrates’ court in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has ordered the remand of a 23-year-old man, Ogunyemi Abiodun, over rape of an 18-year-old girl.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Orinyomi Akinwale, told the court on Tuesday that the defendant was reasonably suspected to have committed the offence on one Olaniyan Rofiat Olabisi and that the offence was punishable under Section 358 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ekiti State 2012.

The prosecutor urged the court to allow him to duplicate the case file and send it to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
The Magistrate, Mrs Dolapo Fasuba, ordered the remand of the defendant and adjourned the case to March 5, 2021.
