A 29-year-old man, Olaleye Jimoh, has been remanded in the Custodial Centre in Ado-Ekiti by the order of the court for raping a 50-year old woman.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Oriyomi Akinwale, told the court on Thursday that the defendant is reasonably suspected to have committed the offence of rape on one Omotayo Jimoh, 50-years old.

According to Akinwale, the offence is punishable under Section 358 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ekiti State 2012 within Ikole-Ekiti Magistrate District on or about January 22, 2021.
Inspector Akinwale noted that the defendant was arrested on January 24, 2021, at Odo-Owa-Ekiti.
Akinwale, urged the court for a short adjournment to allow him to duplicate the case file to be sent to the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
The defendant was represented in court by Barr. Busuyi Ayorinde.
The magistrate, Mrs Adefunmike Anoma, ordered that the defendant be remanded at the correctional centre in Aafo, Ado-Ekiti, and adjourned the case till March 4, 2021, for mention.
