The Kaduna branch of the Nurudeen Society of Nigeria has assured that the Islamic group has ended its 20-years leadership crisis that led to the fractionalisation and called on all members to work together to restore the glory of the association.
The newly-elected Chairman of the society, Kaduna branch, Barrister Mohammed Tajudeen Mohammed, assured that the new executives will do their best to restore the past glory of the association.
At his inaugural speech, Mohammed said aggressive membership drive and modernisation of the association was the top priority of the new exco and pledged to reunite all aggrieved members.
“I can assure you that the crisis is over. What happened today is evidence that nobody is ready for crisis any longer. The crisis has done more damage to the association than good. All we had then has gone; the nursery, primary and secondary schools have all gone simply because of the crisis. Before now, we could boast of over 200 pupils for the Islamic schools but today, we can hardly boast of 30 to 40 pupils. So, our priority is to bring back all the activities of Nurudeen that had gone,” he said.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the National President, Nurudeen Society of Nigeria, Abdur-Rasaq Sodiq, urged the new officials to see their new positions as an opportunity to serve and must consolidate on the legacies of the past leaders of the association.
Sodiq renewed the call for unity among members, just as he advised the executives to work within the stipulated guidelines and rules of the association and with the fear of God.
