Over-speeding: Pedestrian killed in Osun town

At least one person has been confirmed dead in an accident involving a Toyota Hiace commercial bus with registration number JJJ706XD at Iwo road junction, Alape, Osun State.

Daily Trust learnt that there were 15 people in the bus, 11 men and four women. A man whose identity could not be ascertained died in the accident.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were at the scene for rescue operation.

The Sector Commander, Mrs Kudirat Ibrahim, confirmed the incident. She spoke through the Public Relations Officer of the FRSC in the state, Mrs Agnes Ogungbemi.

The FRSC boss said the vehicle was on high speed and that it hit man and he died on the spot.

Meanwhile, the community have refused to allow the corpse to be taken to the mortuary.

Police from Gbongan Divisional Police Headquarters have taken over the crashed vehicle.
