A former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, a lawyer, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) failed on its promises to address insecurity challenges in the country, particularly in the North.
Dalung said one of the major promises of the party was to address the problem of security, but it has failed on that.

Speaking to BBC Hausa Service on Saturday, Dalung said the APC had since lost its reputation in the eyes of Nigerians, adding that nobody will trust the party again until changes are made.
“What type of government is this that you have to pay bandits before they allow you go to farm? What will be the future of the North if you have to pay bandits for you to access your own farm?
Now, it is not easy for one to travel in the North. The security challenges have put doubt and fear in many people. For you to travel now you have to pray and fast for safe return,’’ he said, adding that the truth must be told.
“We struggled for this government to come to power, but it could not satisfy our needs. We have said the truth on the past governments. This is our government and we have to say the truth, no matter what. It is our responsibility to tell our government the truth,’’ he said.
He said efforts must be made to rescue the APC from collapse, adding, “I am now an old member of the party. I am waiting for new registration to commence so that I will register again.’’
