As part of its efforts to stem the tide of COVID-19, the Lagos State Government has urged the Council of Obas and Chiefs, Chairmen of the 57 Local Governments Councils and Local Community Development Associations (LCDAs) as well as the executives of Lagos State Development Advisory Council to commence sensitisation campaign on the deadly virus.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Dr. Wale Ahmed who spoke at a stakeholders meeting directed the council chairmen to embark on the decontamination of their respective localities.

While the Commissioner decried the rising cases of COVID-19 in the second wave of the virus, he stressed that there was need to ensure that members of their communities adhere strictly to the safety guidelines issued by the State government to curb the spread of the deadly virus.
He reiterated that the measures have become expedient owing to the resurgence of the pandemic and the spike in the rate of infection while he encouraged the wearing of facemasks, regular hand washing, use of sanitizer and physical distancing among others.
Dr. Ahmed further commended the stakeholders for their support in the wake of the pandemic in year 2020, assuring that with the support of the citizens, the State will overcome the health challenge stronger and with better health structures.
