The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has rolled out an online ticketing platform for the Abuja-Kaduna train service.
The service was launched on Wednesday morning but without ceremony.
With this development, intending travellers can buy and print their tickets online.
Our correspondent also gathered that commuters can also buy tickets at the station using the NRC PoS machine.
The Operations Manager, Abuja-Kaduna train service, Mr. Victor Adamu, confirmed this to our Daily Trust.
He said the process completely stops cash transactions even at the train stations as only ATM cards are the acceptable means of transaction.
This arrangement is expected to end tickets racketeering at the train station.
He said the directive to commence the online ticketing was at the instance of the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi.
