The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has urged the TAJ Bank to prioritise opening a branch in Uyo in Akwa Ibom State once it gains its national license.

Akpabio said this when the bank commissioned an infrastructure at Saint John Paul School in Uyo recently.

According to a statement from the TAJ Bank, the minister commended the bank for believing in the vision of the school and accepting to provide financing for the expansion of the institution’s infrastructures.

Representing the bank, one of its officials, Mr Nasir T. Usman, acknowledged the enormous strides that the leadership of the school has made to fill in the gap of quality education in Nigeria.

He noted that the results were evident in the school’s nine years of existence as it had succeeded in moulding students of great intellectual output and high moral standing.

The bank said in just over one year of operations, it has recorded several milestones. Recently, the bank was awarded Bank of the Year by Leadership Newspapers Group for its remarkable performance and efforts in driving financial inclusion to people at the grassroots.

Other dignitaries at the event include the Chairman of the school, Mrs Uloma Akpabio and the Sole Administrator, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr Akwa Efiong.
