Led by Comrade Dauda Mohammed Gombe, the students want the FG to do all within its powers to curb the escalating insecurity in the country.

“As schools prepare to resume, it is imperative to call on the Federal government to immediately declare a state of emergency on these roads to avoid reoccurrence of past incidents where several lives have been lost.

“We also want to remind the federal government of the abduction that took place on the Damaturu-Maiduguri on the second day of the new year where more than 50 persons were alleged to have been kidnapped.

“We use this medium to urge the Government to beef up security at our various institutions so as  to avoid a  repeat of Chibok, Kankara abduction among others.

Gombe said NANS remains a critical stakeholder in the Nigeria project and has continued to be one of the few pillars that unify Nigerian  students.
