A sporting company in Kano has trained kids between the ages of 5 to 15 on various football skills to explore their talents and interact with new people.
The training, organised by Season Fit, a sporting kits company, took place at the BC Sport Centre in Kano with many kids accompanied by their parents in attendance.
The kids were trained on shooting practice, heading techniques and passing techniques, among many other skills.
The organiser of the event and CEO of Season Fit, Abba Sa’ad, said they decided to train the kids to give them a chance to showcase their talents at an early age level and to increase their awareness and exposure of meeting new people.
“We organise this event free of charge for our kids to get a little hangout with new faces. You know it is not always reading and reading, there has to be a time for social interactions, which we are lacking in the society. Bringing them here together will broaden their thinking and also we will realise what they want to become in the future,” he said.
One of the kids, Muhammad Abubakar Abba, 12, said his dream and ambition is to play for Liverpool of England and his parents have been supporting him to achieve that.
“I feel delighted to be here and I will continue to pursue my ambition. Since when I was 5, I have been supporting Liverpool and I want to play for them. I believe with this kind of training we will get to know more people and also add to our skills.”
A father, Usman Alhaji Usman said he brought his child to have a feel of the change of environment and also to interact with new people, adding that the government should copy from the organisers to broaden the life experience of our kids.
