Deeper Life school student: Police orders restraint of involved parties

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has ordered parties involved in the molestation issue concerning a student of Deeper Life High School, to restrain from any action as the case was being investigated.

The Police order follows a legal action instituted by the mother of the child, Mrs Deborah Archibong, against Deeper Life Secondary School, Uyo, for alleged molestation of her son.

Mrs Archibong through her Counsel, David Okokon is seeking the sum of N100 million and published apology in four newspapers within 21 days as compensation.

In the petition dated December 22, 2020, and titled, “Gross child abuse, palpable molestation, serial bullying, criminal starvation, malicious oppression and dubious maltreatment” of her son, Archbong said the issue involving her son was a gross violation of the Child Right Law.

Already, the Akwa Ibom State Government has pulled out of the case as Mrs Archibong alleged that the Commissioner of Education intimated her.

In a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Odiko Macdon, and made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Uyo, the Commissioner of Police, Amiengheme Andrew, directed parties involved in the case to stay action until the outcome of their investigation.

He assured the people that “no stone will be left unturned in unraveling the truth, and that the outcome of the investigation will be made known to the general public.

“The Akwa Ibom State Police Command is in receipt of a petition by one Mrs Deborah Archibong, aged 41yrs, mother of one Don-Davis Iniobong Archibong ‘m’, aged 11yrs, a student of Deeper Life High School, Idoro Road, Uyo, wherein she alleged that her son, Master Don-Davis Iniobong was inhumanly treated, sexually molested and suffered starvation, against one Mrs Ndidi Solomon, aged 45yrs and three (3) others.

“The Commissioner of Police, Amiengheme Andrew, fdc has ordered a discreet investigation into the matter and the said investigation has commenced immediately,” the release stated.
