Iyan Zazzau, Bashar Aminu, was, until his death, in a legal tussle with the Kaduna State Government over the selection of Ahmed Nuhu Bamali as emir after the death of the 18th emir, Shehu Idris on September 20th 2020.

The 19th emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamali, on Friday confirmed, through his verified twitter handle, that: “It is with the deepest regret and no pleasure that we announce the death of the most powerful traditional title holder and wealthiest prince in Northern Nigeria, Alh. Basar Aminu, Iyan Zazzau.”

“A great soul, we mourn his death and pray that the Almighty will give his family and the entire people of Zazzau fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

“May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant his Janna.”

Bamali who also confirmed the demise of the Talban Zazzau said: “Zazzau emirate regrets to announce the passage of Talban Zazzau, Alhaji Abdulkadir Pate.
