Kebbi releases N3bn for retirees’ gratuity

Kebbi State Government has approved the release of N3 billion for the payment of retirees’ gratuity in the state.

On December 11, the state’s chairmen of Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Umar Halidu Alhassan, and Trade Union Congress (TUC), Danladi Aliyu Dabai, issued an ultimatum that by January 1, 2021, the organised labour would shut down the state if the state government failed to pay the retired workers their entitlements.

The state’s Commissioner for Finance, Ibrahim Muhammad Augie, in a statement, Thursday, said the sum of N2 billion was approved for the payment of state government retirees and N1 billion for local governments and local government education authorities retirees.
