Christmas: Zamfara APC donates 250 bags of rice, 15 cows to CAN, others

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has donated 250 bags of rice and 15 cows to the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), Igbo and Yoruba APC members, to celebrate Christmas.

Presenting the items to the beneficiaries in Gusau on Friday, APC Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Liman, said the items were donated by a former governor and APC leader, Alhaji Abdul’aziz Yari.

Liman, represented by the APC Secretary in the state, Alhaji Sani Musa, said the items comprised of 200 bags of rice and 10 cows for the CAN community in the state.

He said that 40 bags of rice and four cows were also donated to Igbo APC wing and Igbo community.

“We are also presenting 10 bags of rice and a cow to Yoruba wing of the party in the state,” Liman said.

He commended Igbo and Yoruba communities for their support to the party.

Liman urged the beneficiaries to use the period to pray for peace and stability in the state and in the country.

“You should also not forget the present administration in the country led by President Muhammadu Buhari and APC national leadership while conducting your prayers,” the APC chairman said.

The CAN Secretary, Amadu Haruna, thanked the former governor for the gesture.

“We thank the former governor for the gesture.

“We enjoyed such support from him when he was in power [and] we are happy that up till now, he has not forgotten us,” Haruna said.

The Chairman, Igbo APC wing, Mr Collins Ofodile, also thanked the former governor and APC leadership for the gesture.

Ofodile assured the party of support and cooperation from the Igbo community.
