2021: Buni, Ganduje, Fayemi, 2 others sign budgets

The governors of Yobe, Kano, Ekiti, Gombe and Katsina states, Wednesday, assented to their states’ 2021 appropriation bills.

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, said the N177.9 billion approved by the state’s House of Assembly was lower than that of 2020 because of the economic situation in the country, occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic.

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe said the state’s budget of N106.8 billion has N61.1 billion as recurrent expenditure and N45.7 billion as capital expenditure.

He said the government would continue to exploit comparative advantage in agriculture for employment opportunities and income generation.

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, expressed confidence that the state’s N109.7 billion budget would help to deepen its economy and bring more development to the people.

Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe assured that the budget of N120.346 billion would be implemented logically.

The governor expressed optimism that the 2021 budget will bring the desired change to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people, “in line with our campaign promises.”

Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, after signing the state’s N286.6bn budget, called on the people to continue to pray for peace and progress of the state while promising not to relent in his efforts to move the state forward.
