Ponfa Bali, son to a former Minister of Defence and Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Domkat Bali (rtd), has described his late father as a disciplinarian and forthright person who set the standard for ethical public life in Nigeria.
Ponfa spoke in Jos, Plateau State capital on Wednesday during the lying in state/service of songs for his late father.

“The nation will also miss him so much because he set the standard for how to behave in public life.
“I mean ethical public life in Nigeria, and how not to let money or power drive you, but rather be simple, professional and ethical.
“So, Nigeria will miss that legacy and the strong message he passed across,” he said.
Many top military officials attended the event and several goodwill messages and prayers were offered, after which his remains were conveyed back in a military ambulance to await further funeral activities.
