Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State and Chairman of the North Central Governors’ Forum, on Monday, debunked speculation that they were in Benue State to woo Governor Samuel Ortom back to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Our correspondent reports that the rumour heightened on Sunday when governors of the six North Central states converged on Makurdi for a meeting.

Ortom used the APC platform during his first tenure but defected to PDP where he earlier gained prominence in politics.
But in recent times, speculations have heightened that the APC was scheming to bring him back to its fold, a development which Ortom had sometime ago confirmed but assured that he was not leaving PDP.
The Niger governor, who, debunked the rumour while fielding questions from journalists, said their convergence on Makurdi was devoid of politics but to “address the common challenges of insecurity facing our states.
