“It’s been a really long time but we’re glad to have overcome all glitches that have delayed the commencement of the 2020/21 season,” he wrote.

It was gathered that the league kick-off was delayed to ensure all the clubs involved in the competition begin the season on equal footing.

It will be recalled that four clubs, Plateau United, Enyimba, Rivers United and Kano Pillars were representing the country in continental competitions.

However, Plateau United and Kano Pillars have been booted out of CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup respectively.

In the fixtures released by the League Management Company, Rivers United will take on Rangers Int’l while Enyimba hosts Abia Warriors. Akwa United will trade tackles with Dakkada FC while FC Ifeanyi Ubah entertains Lobi Stars in the first round of matches.

Other Week 1 fixtures will see Adamawa United  welcome Kano Pillars just as Heartland FC takes a trip to Katsina United.

Wikki Tourists will take a tour to Nasarawa United while Jigawa FC will play host to Sunshine Stars just as Warri Wolves will look to devour MFM FC.
