Meet Prophet Lovy Elias aka Lovy Longomba

Prophet Lovy Elias is founder of The Revelation Church Of Jesus Christ (RCJC) LA, California. The former singer, song writer and producer better known

as LOVY LONGOMBA, is the other half of the now disbanded hiphop/soukous musical group THE LONGOMBAS.

The Longombas were a musical group originally from Congo DRC, based in Kenya performing a fusion of hiphop and Soukous founded by brothers Christian and Lovy Elias Longomba.

Born into a musical family; their father Lovy Longomba was a member of SUPER MAZEMBE a Congolese band, while their grandfather Vicky Longomba was a member of TPOK JAZZ.

France based Congolese musician Awilo Longomba is their also uncle.

The group burst onto the Kenyan music scene in 2002 with their single “Dondosa”, which became a national hit.

They followed it up with other smash singles like “Piga Makofi”, “Shika More” and “Vuta Pumz”.

Their debut album Chukua released in 2005 by Ogopa Deejays a Kenyan production group and musical label won many awards including 2005 Kota Award for Best East African Group, 2006 Kisima Music Award for Best Group from Kenya & Boomba Group & Best Song from Kenya (“Vuta Pumz”) & Social Responsibility and 2006 Tanzania Music Award for Best East African Album (Chukua).

They also performed at the Channel O Music Video Awards in South. Shortly afterwards they left Ogopa Deejays to form their own independent label, Bad Man Camp. However, they later returned to Ogopa Deejays after a while. The group later relocated to Los Angeles, California and shortly after disbanded.

Prophet Lovy Elias Longomba is currently the lead pastor of The Revelation Church Of Jesus Christ (RCJC) and focuses now on writing and producing for other artists.
