The Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC) at the weekend declared the ruling APC as the winner of the local council elections held on Saturday in the state.
Chairman of the commission, Saidu Shehu Awak, declared that all candidates fielded by the APC were returned elected as chairmen of the 11 LGAs and councillors for the 114 positions.
Meanwhile, the main opposition party, PDP, has rejected the election results, describing it as a charade as no election was held across the state.
State chairman of the party, Mr Abnon Kwaskebe, told newsmen that the outcome of the election was predetermined by the ruling APC as electoral materials were not delivered at the 2,228 polling units across the 11 LGAs of the state.
