No fewer than 1000 Kano youths have been trained by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) on phone repairs to encourage entrepreneurship development in the State.
The Director, Legal Service of the board, Mohammmed Bashir, said the beneficiaries passed through an intensive eight-month training exercise.
He said the trainees were exposed to modern techniques in phone repairs, hardware and software design under its entrepreneurship development programme.
“Entrepreneurship is part of the board’s empowerment programme designed to empower youths in high impact economic sectors such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT), agriculture and construction.
“The programme develops a pool of local talents for the assembly of GSM phones and development of software applications that are currently largely imported,” he said.
