Benue: Cultists kill 1, rob traders in Makurdi market

Suspected cultists have reportedly killed one person and robbed some traders at Wurukum market in Makurdi metropolis of Benue State.

Our correspondent gathered that the incident which happened on Wednesday afternoon caused pandemonium in the market.

It was learnt that the ‘boys’ trailed their victim to the market and shot him dead before snatching monies from traders.

Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Catherine Anene, said the cultists invaded the market to actually assassinate their target whom they killed in the process.

Anene however added that the suspected cultists while escaping robbed some traders of their money.
