COVID-19: Kano shuts schools

Kano state government has announced the immediate closure of all public and private schools in the state.

The state commissioner of Education, Muhammad Sanusi Kiru in a statement said the state governor Abdullahi Ganduje gave the nod for the closure.

He said parents whose children are in boarding schools are to also arrange and convey their children and wards back home from tomorrow ( Wednesday) December 16, 2020, adding that all inconveniences are regretted.

Daily Trust reports that the statement was silent on the reason for the closure but may not be unconnected to the resurgence of COVID-19 being witnessed across the state. ‎
