The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has said there is no quarrel between him and the former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Shaibu, who said this at the weekend during his thanksgiving service held at St. Philip Catholic Church, Jattu, Etsako, for his re-election as the deputy governor of the state, stated that Oshiomhole taught him everything he knew about politics.

“Oshiomhole made me stand firm and helped us end godfatherism. Oshiomhole taught me all that I know today politically. I have no quarrel with him,” he said. According to him, the September 19 governorship election was the first election in Nigeria where both the APC, PDP and other political parties came together to support the incumbent governor for the purpose of peace and sustainable development.
“We must come together as a nation in recognising our shared interests, in placing boundaries on our competition in order not to divide the nation into hostile and irreconcilable camps. This dangerous impasse is one of the areas where the wisdom of Governor Godwin Obaseki has reigned supreme,” he added.
The deputy governor, who said the state government had restored justice for the less privileged in the society, added that the goal of the Obaseki-led administration was to improve the prospects and productivity of the poor.
“We must all join hands together to build a virtuous society and we must not let go of our moral code of a disciplined society,” he also said.
Earlier in his homily titled ‘Rejoice in the Lord’, Rev. Father Godrick Shabba called on the deputy governor to continuously be his brother’s keeper.
