The Governing Council of Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) has announced Prof. Mu’azu Abubakar Gusau of Usmanu Danfodiyo University as its substantive third Vice-Chancellor.
The announcement was made by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Rt. Hon. Yissa Ezekiel Benjamin on Thursday, 10th December, 2020 at the University’s Council Chamber immediately after the completion of its 20th Council Meeting (Special).
Hon. Benjamin stated that the process for the selection of the VC began when the university called for applications through advertisements published in two national dailies.
“Six out of the total applicants were disqualified as a result of their inability to fulfil the requirements indicated in the advertisement,” the chairman said.
He stated that all processes undertaken by the Council was guided by the University Miscellaneous Act 1993, Decree no. 11 and the amendment Act 2003.
