There is tension in Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as two factions are laying claim to the caretaker committee following the dissolution of executives at all level of the party by the National Executive Committee of the party.
While the faction led by Aslem Ojezua election claimed to be the authentic caretaker committee of the party, the faction led by Col David Imuse (rtd) also claimed same.

Speaking on the development, Ojezua said he remained the valid state chairman of the party.
He said APC NEC ought to have extended the expulsion given to the former National Vice Chairman, South-South of the party, Hillard Eta, to the former National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and Ize-Iyamu with the role they played in the party.
He said, “We have given instructions to our counterparts at the lower levels of the party to make consultations.
“We are more interested in knowing the future of our party because you know this was the party to beat in Edo state in the past 12 years until Oshiomhole messed things up.”
He said Edo needs proper attention in assessing the desires and wishes of the memberships.
He stated: “Any leadership must be sensitive to the feelings of their people no matter how lowly placed we are, our membership is not inferior to any other membership anywhere in the country but they beginpwe will have to review our position.
But a member of Imuse faction who spoke in confidence wondered why Ojezua would be laying claiming to the party he wanted to destroy.
“He publicly worked against our party and the candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, in the last governorship election,” the member said.
He noted Ojezua was removed in line with the constitution of the party and ratified by the then NWC hence he lacks the moral right to speak about APC.
